Jamaican Treasures Villas presents this lovely 4 bedroom beachfront
property, Sunspot Villa in Runaway Bay. Escape to this private
Jamaican villa built on the sugary white sands of the Caribbean
Sea.
Set in lush gardens, you will be attended by a caring staff of
three, and will truly relax in this tranquil, luxurious home on
Jamaica's beautiful north coast. Sunspot Villas allows you to
step through the beach gate to swim, snorkel and kayak in the
turquoise Caribbean is at your feet.
Exploring, sightseeing and shopping are easy. Walk to golf, tennis,
and horseback riding or unwind around the pool where the trade
winds blow your cares away. Sunspot Villa is rented with a cook,
houseman and chambermaid.
Golf is available at the Breezes course; only a three-minute walk.
All bedrooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. This charming
Jamaican villa is comfortable, and has a spacious living room
is built in the open, Caribbean style and seats ten. The high-beamed
ceiling, louvered and sliding doors open to the patio, grounds,
blue Caribbean and cool trade winds.
Please bring any personal audio tapes, music CD’s or video tapes
you care to play while at Sunspot and feel free to use the stereo
system, satellite TV, VCR (VHS) and family games.
Dine inside the open dining area which seats 8 comfortably or
in the airy gazebo overlooking the grounds, pool and blue Caribbean.
Sunspot villa is equipped with two kayaks which you are free to
use. If you are interested in snorkeling, the staff will lend
you equipment. The waters in front of the house are safe for swimming
and water sports during the day as well as the evening.
There is a lot to see whether you are snorkeling or in a glass
bottom boat. You can arrange for a wide variety of water sports
from deep sea fishing to water skiing to para-sailing to glass
bottom boat rides by calling the local water sports company. Their
brochures are available in the house and their offices are in
Salem on the right.
You can also arrange water sports through Breezes Hotel next door
for the cost of a day pass which includes all activities, drinks
and food. This requires a day pass, which will include all activities,
drinks, food, entertainment, etc. Other water sports can be arranged
for by the staff or directly in Ocho Rios. Look in the telephone
directory or for road signs when in town.
The waters away from the villa are safe for swimming especially
at the beaches. There are no dangerous sharks or fish, although
there can be an occasional jelly fish outside the coral reefs.
Sunspot’s staff will prepare all meals, snacks and drinks, however,
food and alcohol are not included in the rental. Prior to your
arrival, the staff will do a limited amount of shopping on your
behalf at the local store. When you arrive there will be snacks
and a prepared meal. The staff will discuss your complete meal
requirements with you upon your arrival. If you prefer the staff
to shop for you, they will continue to shop at TAYLOR’S market,
the local store on your behalf. You are expected to settle your
account at TAYLOR’S before you leave.
If you prefer to shop for yourself, there are several local stores.
Turning RIGHT (West) on the main road towards Montego Bay, but
immediately in the Runaway Bay shopping area, there are several
stores (TAYLOR’S, L&M MARKET, etc.) as well as a local bakery
which sells Jamaican patties, coco bread, meatloaf patties, and
various baked sweets. About 10 minutes further is Discovery Bay.
Prior to reaching the gas station, there is a small convenience
store on the left in a small shopping center. It is very small
but very well stocked. Take a hard left at the corner of the gas
station, and about 100 yards up on the right is another small
shopping center. The "supermarket" on the left is fairly well
stocked. The bakery to the left of the supermarket is similar
to the bakery in Runaway Bay. Turning LEFT (East) on the main
road towards Ocho Rios, there is a small shopping center on the
left, past the small town of Salem. The supermarket there is also
fairly well stocked. The meat store to the left of the supermarket
is the best place to buy all kinds of meat including Jamaican
style selections. Continuing toward Ocho Rios, there is a small
fishing village on the left about 5 minutes past the meat store.
The best time to visit is around 10:30 to 11:30 AM. If you catch
the boats coming in, there is usually a small but nice selection
of just caught fish, and occasionally, lobster.
Do not hesitate to buy fish from the local spear fishermen walking
along the road with their spear guns and catch. This fish was
just caught. The best supermarket is about 20 minutes away in
Ocho Rios. Bear left at the fork in the road when entering Ocho
Rios, and continue into the town looking for the Jamaica Tourist
Board office sign on the left. Turn left into the shopping center.
This market has just about anything you may want: fresh, frozen,
canned or dry.
Humming bird Master Suite: King size bed, dressing

doors to the crystal blue sea.
Hibiscus Bedroom: Comfortable and airy with two
twin beds, large dressing area with sink and walk in closet. Shares
a full bath with the Anthurium bedroom. Open the louvered doors
to the pool and crystal blue sea.
Anthurium Bedroom: Comfortable and cool with
two twin beds, large dressing area with sink and walk in closet.
Shares a full bath with the Hibiscus bedroom.
Garden Guest cottage: Large detached private
garden cottage with 2 twin beds plus pull down queen size Murphy
bed. Comfortable walk in dressing area with sink and private bath.
Perfect for the kids.
Sunspot Villa Staff
Dell, our cook has been with us for twenty years. Angela prepares
outstanding Jamaican dishes such as ackee and saltfish, curried
chicken, rice and peas, pumpkin soup, as well as superb Chinese,
Italian, Continental and open pit barbecue. She is also an excellent
baker of cookies, cakes, pies and banana bread, all from scratch.
Wilson, our houseman has been with us for 28 years and has served
guests from all over the world. Quiet, yet very attentive, feel
free to request of him any special needs you may have.
Sharon, our chambermaid has been with Sunspot for almost 10 years.
She is ready to take care of all your housekeeping or laundering
needs.
A Jamaican Nanny can be provided on a per diem basis if required.
Please advise us in advance should you require the services of
one.
