Scotch On The Rocks is a wonderful luxurious waterfront villa in beautiful Ocho Rios. The gardens have been well tended and tropical plants selected with care.

The name "Scotch on the Rocks" reflects both the villa's history and location. Sitting on the rocks just above the Caribbean Sea, "Scotch on the Rocks" was originally owned by a Scottish Lord. In the 1980s, the Earl of Mansfield sold the house to a Jamaican family, renowned for founding Red Stripe Beer. Today, Scotch on the Rocks is still owned by members of that family.

"Scotchie," as the villa is affectionately called, is ideal for family vacations or romantic getaways. The villa is extremely private and has a full staff of four, including a cook, waiter, butler and housekeeper. FLOOR PLAN: Scotch on the Rocks Villa

With attention to detail, Scotch on the Rocks has the most beautiful travertine floors on the first floor and rich mahogany floors upstairs where three wonderful bedrooms are located. There is a very private bedroom located on the ground floor with its own ensuite bathroom. The TV room has large over stuffed sofas and a 42" flat screen TV.


There are new plasma flat screen TV's along with DVD's in all the bedrooms in Scotch on the Rocks. The living room now has a 42 inch plasma, flat screen TV and in the master bedroom, there is a 32 inch plasma TV. The other two upstairs bedrooms have 20 inch TVs, all with DVD's and the two bedrooms downstairs have 32 inch plasma flat screens.

The bedrooms are furnished with high quality Jamaican mahogany furniture, beautiful antiques and wonderful original art pieces which have been specially chosen by this owner. The outdoor pool furniture is of very high quality and is made of solid Jamaican wood. On the veranda, there are also wonderful wicker furnishings with the most beautiful and elegant tropical palm tree print.

All bedrooms have air-conditionings, brand new baths, and most have wonderful walk out porches which look out to the blue azures of the Caribbean Sea. With careful attention to detail, this owner provides fine bed linens, high quality duvets and down pillows. There are wonderful large wooden louvered doors which open up to make these rooms spacious and open to the spectacular sea views which makes this villa a prime property.

Dining areas in this villa can be of your choice. There is a wonderful rich mahogany dining table indoors which have views to the sea, or if you wish, dine outdoors with views to the sparkling pool. There are wonderful outdoor speakers for surround sound outside the pool and veranda areas to set the tropical tone, made for absolute relaxation or special entertaining through the day or night.

Scotch On The Rocks has a wonderful pathway which leads down to a solid wooden jetty and seaside gazebo where you can jump into the blue waters and enjoy swimming or snorkeling in your own backyard. This is a perfect place to come and read your favourite book, watch fishing boats go by or simply daydream away and absorb the beauty that this villa has to offer. The staff here needs special mention as they are fantastic will look after your every need.

Scotchie's talented chefs know a wide range of recipes and can create a personalized menu, based on your tastes and dietary needs. Here is a sample of the wonderful meals that can be enjoyed at the villa:

Lobster Thermidor and pork in black beans served with white rice, fried plantains and a fresh salad. Lemon Meringue pie for dessert

Roasted Jerk Chicken served with Grilled Red Peppers, Sweet Potato, Pumpkin, Pesto and Goat Cheese casserole, a tossed green salad with papaya and toasted almonds served with the house dressing. A Pina Colada Cheesecake for dessert.

Honey Hoisin Pork chops and Spicy Shrimps served with White Basmati rice, fried plantains and stir fried assorted vegetables. Rum Cake and whipped cream for dessert.

Freshly caught fish steamed in a coconut sauce with thyme, scallion and scotch bonnets served with bammies, white rice assorted stir fried vegetables and corn fritters. Banana and Orange Crepes topped with whipped cream as dessert.

Pepperpot soup served with homemade bread as a starter. Crab backs and a jerked chicken pasta and a salad of Romaine lettuce, Apricots and Sun dried tomatoes and Goat cheese. Chocolate Black Satin pie with pecan crust for dessert.

Grilled Fillet tenderloin of beef with mushrooms gravy served with Cuban black beans, a Thai shrimp salad, white rice, fried plantains and steam julienne assorted vegetables. Banana Cream Pie for dessert.

Cream of Red Peas soup served with garlic bread. Roasted leg of lamb in guava glaze, served with a green salad, baked new potatoes and cream of vegetable casserole. Coconut Custard for dessert.

Bedrooms

Master Bedroom: King Bed, sitting area, antique writing desk, walk out porch. Separate dressing room, private bath, shower, bidet, wonderful travertine stone floor and natural stone countertops.
Bedroom 2: Queen Bed and antique writing desk. Ensuite bathroom, walk out to side porch with sea views.
Bedroom 3: Queen bed and ensuite bathroom. Walk out private porch overlooking sea and garden.
Bedroom 4: Very private bedroom, on ground floor, in attached cottage. Four twin beds in this cottage bedroom, very large luxurious bedroom suite. Cable TV, DVD, VCR, games and a brand new bathroom with tub and shower.
Bedroom 5: Located on the ground floor, this room has wonderful views of the Caribbean Sea. It has two single beds, which may be converted to a king on request.

Scotch on the Rocks can sleep 12 persons comfortably.
