They
say in Jamaica everyone drinks Bacardi and dances next to naked on the
beach.
They say in Jamaica the water is so blue it looks like it might stain
your skin.
They say in Jamaica the sun always shines and when it´s not shining,
it´s just behind a tiny cloud so why not go and fix yourself a drink?
They say in Jamaica holiday life is so slow and easy even the mellow
reggae beat of Bob Marley sounds like frenetic drum and bass.
They say in Jamaica, if you don´t find paradise you better find a good
optometrist… fast.
Of course, not all of this is true. Nothing ever is. In Jamaica no-one
would be caught dead drinking Bacardi.
But for once, the expectations of a holiday destination match what you
find. In this crazy modern world of make-believe where photo-shop can
make an industrial estate look like something the Getaway crew would
sell their eye-teeth to discover, it´s nice to know that paradise does
actually exist, and that coconut trees and endless white sandy beaches
aren´t just a figment of Bill Gates´ imagination.
Jamaica is as close as you´ll come to heaven on earth. It is what you
imagined it to be. Why else would a hedonistic Hollywood bad boy with
the world at his disposal, like the one and only Errol Flynn, choose
to live out the rest of his life here? Why else would some of the world´s
most spolit, and demanding celebrities, like Johnny Depp, Sting, Jack
Nicholson, Harrison Ford, Noami Campbell and Jim Carrey, choose Jamaica
year after year after year for holidays?
It is as good as the Bacardi ads would like you to believe. The sea
is so clear, it always looks shallow even when it´s 20 metres deep,
the jungle is so dense and fertile you´d imagine Tarzan might live in
there, the sunshine is so therapeutic it´s hard to believe it can actually
burn you, the bars, restaurants and cafes are so quaint you´ll feel
like James Bond on assignment and the people, well, the people are what
make Jamaica.
The charisma of the Jamaican people is a hard thing to describe in words,
it´s a natural charm that you wish you could bottle and share with your
friends. Jamaicans are never in a hurry, they always want a chat and
anytime you leave them they´ll fix with a smile that dazzles like a
thousand Colgate ads, offer you their special handshake and leave with
one word: respect.
Renting a villa or staying at one of Jamaica´s finest all-inclusive
resorts is the best way to see Jamaica. The villas on Jamaica are the
best on earth. Simple as that.
How do you book a villa? Simply go to the website of www.jamaicantreasures.com
They have the largest collection of over 300 villas in Jamaica. A spectacular
collection of the most private and cosy hideaways to the most luxurious
mansions. Look no further…
A thousand celebrities can´t be wrong. From the peace and tranquillity
you get perched high above Montego Bay at the stunning Destiny Villa
and Silent Waters, to the sheer extravagance of being pampered at your
ocean-front home at Tyrall, to the sheer decadence of living like a
movie star at the subtly designed Golden Eye, staying in Jamaica will
open your eyes to what you should really expect of a holiday.
Could there be anything better than waking with the birds, strolling
a few metres from your bedroom to the Caribbean Sea for a morning dip
or a snorkel before having a glorious Jamaican fruit platter and breakfast
prepared for you? Or dining alone with your partner while a four course
meal is brought to you and far below you the bright lights of Montego
Bay twinkle? Or sleeping in Oscar Hammerstein’s own bedroom beside the
rainforest and waking early to watch the mist from the forest pass through
your open bedroom? Or playing golf on some of the world´s best resort
courses? Or taking a kayak from your own private beach and exploring
deserted bays before sunbaking on a private pontoon, then jumping in
with all the local sealife to cool down from this glorious Jamaican
bakin’.
Everything about Jamaica has its own unique Caribbean style. Jerk chicken
on the beach with sand and a swim for a napkin. Drinking Red Stripe
as you dangle your legs on the cliffs overlooking perfect turquoise
mirrored water and watch crimson and peach drip from the sky from one
of the world-famous Jamaican sunsets. Watching the moon rise with the
one you love but being distracted by just how bright stars can be out
here. Listening to reggae music at one of the island´s numerous, exciting
night-spots, dozing till noon, waking every hour or so just to make
sure you weren´t just dreaming.
You will feel like a movie star, but that´s as far as Jamaica can take
you. Be warned, you will have to return eventually.
