Weddings at Good Hope Plantation, Jamaica
Jamaica is among the most romantic islands in the Caribbean, not only
for its sensuous green landscape and turquoise waters but also for its
fascinating history and independent people. Jamaica's Good Hope is an
extraordinary setting for any type of celebration but the life embracing
quality of a Wedding matches its majesty.
Good Hope offers a total of 17 bedrooms (including Great House, Coach
House, River Cottage, hOMe and Garden Cottage), with the capacity to
accommodate a maximum of 34 persons. Additional Villa and hotel accommodations
are located nearby.
Wedding meals include Passed hors d’oeuvres on the front lawn with a
beautiful view after the ceremony. A 3 course meal served in style of
your choosing – plated, buffet or stations ($85 set up each), with a
special dessert alternate to the wedding cake, coffee and tea. An Open
Bar is provided after the ceremony. The Bar does not include champagne.
Good Hope offers its (tables, chairs, utensils and white table cloth)
included for up to 100 guest. Sample menus are available upon request.
Fresh tropical flowers – heliconias, ginger lilies, bamboo, and bougainvilleas
fill the Great House and are fresh on the dining tables every day at
Good Hope. For more elaborate decorations, including imported flowers,
wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, wedding arches and aisle décor; we will
recommend a wonder coordinator who will make your wedding at Good Hope
a storybook event.
Good Hope special events are approx. 6 hours – there is a 5% per hour
surcharge for events over 6 hours. There will be a $20 charge for staff
meals for band, photographers and drivers as required. (all rates subject
to change at any time)

At Good Hope there is lots and lots to do. Set on a 2000 acre farming
property (mostly citrus), there is much to explore on foot, by horseback
or bicycle. Early morning walks by the river or to discover old ruins,
enjoying the bird life are unforgettable.
Visit the pottery studio of David Pinto, one of Good Hope's resident
artists. Ask for a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon playing in the
river. Pamper yourself with Yoga Classes or book an Aromatherapy Massage.The
Good Hope Stables cater specially to resident guests. Good Hope has
a reputation for having some of the best horseback riding trails in
the world.
Good Hope is also a special place for birdwatching. In 'Birds of Jamaica'
by Audrey Downer and Robert Sutton, Good Hope is described as "a bird-watcher's
paradise - the birds on Good Hope are less shy than in other areas".
Jamaica has more than 255 bird species, of which 26 species are endemic
to the island. 20 of the endemic species are found at Good Hope.
Good Hope's most common birds are Hummingbirds including the Red and
Black Billed Streamertails, Woodpeckers, the Jamaican Crow, Parrots
and the Jamaican Todie the island's most adorable bird.Simply scrumptious
meals are a highlight of a visit to Good Hope.
Good Hope's kitchen offers a wide selection of the island's most delicious
foods using the freshest local produce to create dishes rooted in traditional
Jamaican cooking with an original sophisticated spin supplied by Tammy
Hart, Good Hopes gifted resident chef. We are happy to accommodate special
dietary needs and special requests.
Nearby beaches - Time n Place in Falmouth, 20 minutes away, Half Moon
Beach Club, 35 minutes away. Nearby activities - Rafting on the Martha
brae River, 10 minutes away, one of Jamaicas most popular attractions.
Glistening Waters offers boat rides in a luminous lagoon. Helicopter
Rides and Deep sea Fishing are easily arranged. Montego Bay is 50 minutes
