Activities

World Class Golf

Tryall's 6,921-yard, par-72 course is considered among the finest golf courses in the entire Caribbean and attracts the game's leading players and prestigious international events like the Johnnie Walker World Championships, Mazda Champions, Jamaica Classic and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf. Designed by Ralph Plummer, the course's sculpted fairways and manicured greens meander through forest-green hills, between stands of coconut palms and fruit trees, round lily-padded ponds, down to a one-and-a-half mile long shoreline. The Tryall Club's course enjoys both spectacular views and challenging golf. The course winds along the beach and into the hillside; while some of the holes seem wide open and ready to accept your longest drive, beware of the trade winds - strategy and position are the keys to a successful round.

The signature par-3 4th hole incorporates the natural challenges of the Caribbean Sea and the Flint River, while the memorable par-4 7th hole provides a dramatic tee-shot through the stone pillars of the historic aqueduct that feeds the adjacent waterwheel. 

Tryall is famous for its caddies: lively, entertaining, experienced, dedicated - with an uncanny ability to track down wayward shots and to read the breaks on even the trickiest greens.  

Superb Tennis Courts

The Club's state-of-the-art tennis center features a well-stocked pro-shop, weekly tournaments, an experienced team of instructors and hitting partners, and nine tennis courts- two Classic Clay and seven with Nova Cushion surfaces.  Two courts are lit for night play.

In addition to the regular tennis program, the center has hosted a number of special tennis events including ATP satellite tournaments and the annual Grand Slam Tennis Classic, which has featured many of the all-time greats from Roy Emerson to Ilie Nastase and Boris Becker. Other tennis and sports personalities such as Fred Stolle, Owen Davidson, Sherwood Stewart, Ross Case, Thomas Smid, Mikael Pernfors, Fred McNair and Mel Purcell, Joseph Cullman III - the original force behind the Virginia Slims women's professional tennis tour and one of Tryall's homeowners, Mark McCormack - president IMG, Mark Miles - CEO ATP Tour, Donald Dell - President Pro Serv, Kay Koplovitz - president USA Network, Ahmad Rashad - sports commentator and Bill Murray - actor, to name a few, have all graced the courts at Tryall.

First Rate Facilities

Great House Dining Room

Breakfast at the Great House is an invigorating way to start the day as the windows and doors are thrown open to the sea and morning breezes.  Dinner at the Great House Terrace is an elegant candle-lit affair featuring international and Jamaican cuisine with breath-taking views and the lights of Montego Bay twinkling in the distance. 

Great House Terrace serves wonderful dinners and Afternoon tea, High tea is served daily in the Great House, and at night the bar is a lively gathering place. Weekly events, including a cocktail party hosted by the club's management and members and a beach barbecue highlight the social calendar. 

Beach Cafe

Only feet from the water, at the base of the jetty, the Beach Café offers a varied menu and serves as a popular lunchtime and after golf meeting place.

The Gazebo

Located beside the sea, experience a uniquely romantic dining experience at our Beach Gazebo with your own personal butler. Reservations must be made in advance and you may select from a diverse menu

Beach Barbeque

Our popular beach barbecue is held on Wednesdays and is a treat for all ages featuring live entertainment 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM.

Dinner by the Sea

On Friday night it's back to the beach for a menu featuring seafood and a musical theme. 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM.

Fitness Room

Includes: Stair Climber, Tread Mill, Incline Bench, Free Weights, Life Cycle, Located at room 53 by the Tennis Pro Shop. You must be 18 years & over!

Beauty Salon

Full service salon offering Hair & Nail Care, Therapeutic massages to keep you on the golf course, ,Reflexology, Facials, Body Scrubs, Seaweed body wraps and Waxing.

Massage Center

Massages are done at the Centre or at your villa upon request and availability of transportation. A complete list of services is available upon your arrival.

White Sandy Beach

Our private white sand cove is available for our guests to experience the delights of the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean

Sea Kayaks

Sea Kayaks that can accommodate up to three people are also available at the beach. Take a leisurely paddle to our coral reef just 100 yards off our private beach.

Snorkeling

Provided for all our guest's are flipper's, snorkels and masks to swim to our coral reef, a virtual private underwater preserve for Tryall snorkelers. 

Scuba diving and Motorized Water Sports

The Tryall watersports center can arrange for all your diving needs as well as opportunities for water-skiing and tubing at an additional fee.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding can be arranged through The Tryall Club's tour desk, located at the entrance to the majestic Great House.

Deep Sea Fishing

Half day or whole day tours can be arranged. Take the fishing trip of a lifetime on Ezee!
Fishing starts after about one mile out due to Jamaica's steep ocean fall off, Blue and Silver Marlin are on the Agenda.

Bird watching

For many years the Tryall's 2,200 acre estate has been a designated "bird sanctuary" allowing Jamaica's wonderful collection of birds to enjoy a natural undisturbed environment. Yves-Jacques Rey-Millet an internationally renowned bird photographer visits Tryall annually to photograph the many species of birds that are abound on the property.

Kids Club

At Tryall, vacations are for parents and children alike.  Tryall offers activities and services that allow you to enjoy all the elements of a grown-up getaway, while your children are entertained, cared for and close at hand.  The Kids' Club offers daily activities which make full use of Tryall's amenities and the expansive grounds of the estate. We accommodate kids from ages 5 to 12, however, toddlers (accompanied by baby sitters) and teens are also welcome to join in on selected activities. Friendly, caring and professional babysitters are available for hire for a few hours or full-time service.

Location

Tryall Club is located 12 miles, an easy half-hour drive from Montego Bay's international airport which offers both major commercial airline service and a top-grade general aviation facility.

Tryall is an ideal launching point for exploring the island of Jamaica. Negril is less than an hour's drive to the west while the shopping, restaurants and nightlife of Montego Bay are just 25-minutes away.

Nearby, off-property amenities include horseback riding at Chukka Blue Polo Club, rafting on the Great River and off-shore sailing at the Montego Bay Yacht Club.

Conference Facilities

Tryall has a conference facility that holds Classroom style 80 persons maximum and theatre style at 110 persons maximum. Your Dream Wedding awaits at Tryall, on the grounds of a majestic Jamaican Plantation surrounded by those closest to you. Choose your perfect aisle: at our historic Great House or by our Beachside at sunset. Tryall will co-ordinate the complete wedding event to fulfill your requests.
