Round Hill Resort and Villas

This ultimate legendary resort just gets better. Round Hill offers absolute luxury. This world-famous estate was conceived by well-known Jamaican entrepreneur, John Pringle. The 100-acre peninsula was part of Lord Monson's Round Hill Estate which was first a sugar plantation and later changed over to coconuts and pimento (all spice) which are still produced today.

Twenty-nine acres were subdivided and prominent American and European socialites were invited to build "cottages" and invest in the hotel. Shareholders have included Noel Coward, Adele Astaire, Bill Paley, Lord and Lady Ednam, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hammerstein, Clive Brook, Jack and Natasha Wilson, the Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tiarks and Viscount and Viscountess Rothermere. The hotel operates on the same basis today with 27 villas being owned by individual "shareholders". Each villa is owned by someone rich or famous. When the owners are not in residence the cottages are available for rent either as individual suites or complete two, three or four-bedroom cottages with or without pool. Villas have been formerly owned by legends like Paul Newman and Bing Crosby. A more affordable alternative is a room at Round Hill's Pineapple House Hotel.

Entertainment varies nightly and may include a bonfire-lit beach picnic accompanied by familiar calypso tunes, a four-course dinner and romantic dancing under the stars or casual dining on Jamaican specialties followed by a cabaret of folk music and dancing

Mondays

Beach Party! Welcome; Rum Punch and a sumptuous buffet on the beach, with bonfire, barbeque and Calypso band. Casual atmosphere...go barefoot!

Tuesdays

Dinner is a la carte followed by Calypso tunes.

Wednesdays

Managers Cocktail Party. Dinner is à la carte with option of a Caribbean Curry Table.

Thursdays and Sundays

An à la carte menu is served while guests are entertained by piano or Calypso music

Friday Jamaica Night

On the seaside terrace featuring a bountiful buffet, Jamaican specialties, Steel Drums or Reggae Band, and an exciting Jamaican folklore performance after dinner.

Saturday

Gala Dinner Dance: A more formal evening of dining and dancing on the seaside terrace with a Jazz Band. Jackets often worn, though not required.

Afternoon Tea

A variety of fine teas available every afternoon in the Cocktail Bar from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is a complimentary service to all guests.

Bar Service & Beach Bar

Starting the day, fresh fruit juices are served at the pool and beach bar. A special blend of daily fresh fruits creates the "Round Hill fruit punch" a favorite amongst our guests!

The Spa at Round Hill

The Spa at Round Hill is located in a beautifully restored 18th century plantation house on 10 acres of beachfront lawn. The facilities include an indoor and outdoor fitness center, full service beauty salon, seven body treatment rooms as well as an outdoor treatment area set amidst abundant gardens. The waterfront lawn is used for afternoon yoga classes or massages by the sea. Exotic therapies using the best of Jamaican natural ingredients have been created. The exclusive line of ELEMIS lifestyle aromatherapy products from the United Kingdom was introduced last winter. New is the spa lunch service.

Weddings at Round Hill

Weddings at Round Hill are heavenly. Round Hill will plan any wedding that the bride and groom wishes, whether it be small and intimate or a large grand affair. They have a professional wedding coordinator on hand and superb chefs to create a special wedding to remember. Round Hill also offers a special wedding plan for only $900 which includes the marriage officer, one bottle of champagne, a Jamaican wedding cake, one bouquet of flowers, a wedding gift, photographer to shoot film of 36 pictures and video tape, including developing.

Accommodation at Round Hill

Profuse gardens, secluded golden sandy beaches, a world-class spa in an 18th century Great House at the edge of the sea, plenty of privacy and warm, friendly staff add up to low-key luxury and timeless glamour.

Guests may choose from Pineapple House Hotel with 36 superior and deluxe rooms overlooking the Caribbean Sea and Round Hill's seaside freshwater pool or one of the 27 private villas dotted over the hillside, most with private pool. Each villa has two, three, four or five individual suites with a private living room and/or verandah and all have magnificent sea views. 23 villas have their own swimming pools and are just a short stroll from the sea.

Pineapple House

The Pineapple House comprises 36 oceanfront hotel rooms overlooking the Caribbean Sea. All Pineapple House rooms have large louvered windows which fold back to take full advantage of the view. There are king-sized beds in 20 rooms and the remainder have double beds. All have air-conditioning, private bathrooms with tub and shower, telephones, refrigerators, umbrellas, bathrobes, small coffee machine for complimentary Blue Mountain coffee and tea, hair dryers and an iron and ironing board. The freshwater swimming pool is located right at the edge of the sea adjacent to the Pineapple House.

Deluxe Oceanfront Hotel Rooms (42.5 sq mt)

Newly renovated and designed by Ralph Lauren, all deluxe rooms evoke tropical beach living. White stone floors, romantic four poster mahogany bamboo beds and sumptus upholstered furniture from the Ralph Lauren home collection add to each and every guests' comfort. The colour accents are white and splashes of pink and blue. The bathrooms have been enlarged and feature separate deep tubs, freestanding rain showers and double sink vanities; all fixtures are by Waterworks.

Amenities: Air condition, direct dail telephone, bath tub and separate rain shower facility, double sinks by waterworks, hair dryer, coffee machine with complimentary Blue Mountain coffee, bathrobes, umbrella, Panasonic radio with CD player, iron and ironing board.

Superior Oceanfront Hotel Rooms (42.5 sq mt)

Located in the Pineapple House ground floor is one large bedroom with louvered windows which can be folded back to enjoy the ocean view. Available with either king-size or double beds, some do have connecting doors, of which one room is with king size and the other with double beds. All rooms do have ocean view.

Interior: Blue and white stripe fabrics with mahogany and wicker furnishings influenced by Ralf Lauren, a Round Hill shareholder, who also redecorated the Cocktail Bar and verandah lobby.

Amenities: Air condition, direct dail telephone, bath tub with shower facility, hairdryer, coffee machine with complimentaqry Blue Mountain coffee, bathrobe, umbrella, Panasonic radio with CD player, iron & ironing board.

Round Hill's Villa Suites

There are 27 individually owned villas with 74 suites surrounded by 30 acres of gardens. Villas or cottages contain 2, 3, 4 or 5 suites each with private living rooms and /or verandahs and magnificent sea views. Sizes vary and most have spectacular views. There are 22 villas with their own private swimming pools. Deluxe and Master Villa Suites share the swimming pool with another suite.

The above suites are located in two, three, four or five-bedroom villas of which each has a kitchen. The kitchen facility is used by the cook and housekeepers in order to prepare breakfast which is served in privacy at your verandah, in your suite or garden area. All suites do have private entrances and a living room/verandah area. Deluxe and Master Villa Suites share the swimming pool with one other suite.

Round Hill’s Private and Complete Villas

Luxurious 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Bedroom Villas

2,3-bedroom villas with or without pool, 4,5-bedroom villas with pool. The villas have the same amenities as mentioned above and consist of suites and rooms as described above.

Interior:

• Interiors of villas are beautifully decorated by individual owners to Round Hill’s standard
• You may find wicker, mahogany or bamboo furniture, slip covers and beautiful tiled and wooden floors
• Bedrooms may be closed off and air conditioned
