Datura Villa in Montego Bay, Jamaica
Datura Villa is a wonderful 5 bedroom, 6 bathroom villa which sits perched on 9 acres and offers cool breezes and panoramic views of Montego Bay. Originally built in 1930 by the editor of The New Yorker magazine, the villa has the amenities of a fine hotel and yet offers affordable luxury, privacy, and close proximity to all tourist activities, nightlife, and the airport - only 6 miles to the airport and 5 miles to the center of Montego Bay.
Within the house is a high-ceiling, grand living room with mahogany floors, a library, bar, TV room, antiques, a screened-in dining room overlooking the aquamarine waters below, and a commercial kitchen with ice maker and blender. 
The large terrace, which is ideal for daydreaming and viewing stars at night, overlooks the large swimming pool and hot tub. Also on the grounds are a tennis court, tropical gardens and fruit trees of mango, orange, banana, coconut, lemon, allspice, and breadfruit. This is the perfect spot for families, honeymoons, and groups of friends to relax and play.
 The comprehensive list of amenities includes a swimming pool, large
hot tub, cabana, tennis court, ceiling fans in all bedrooms, stereo
with CD player, hammock, picnic table, commercial stove, refrigerator,
freezer, ice maker, dishwasher, pantry with sink, guest refrigerator
for drinks, blender, ice chest, washer, dryer, fax machine, Cable TV
and VCR.

The staff at Datura villa is what completes the experience. Madge, the cook, is very accommodating to all diets and vegetarian requests. Menus are available to aid you in planning your meals, and Madge will advise you how best to take advantage of the market and seasonal conditions. 
Fresh fruit platter and fresh squeezed orange juice are part of every breakfast, if you so desire. Datura has a modern, clean kitchen, and guests often pop in to say hello to Madge and learn about Jamaican food preparation. The delicious food is hard to match, even at fine restaurants in Montego Bay.  
Henry is the gardener, poolman, and caretaker. He is available to take you on a tour of the grounds and show you the fruit trees and vegetable plants he tends, as well as tell you about the Jamaican plants thriving here. 
Chisolm, manages the property and is also a state licensed tour operator.
He owns a 12 passenger mini-van and is available to provide all ground
and touring transportation at costs below car rental rates. This makes
for truly carefree travel. The Datura staff (number dependent on number of guests) will serve your meals, clean your rooms daily, provide you with beach towels and other items. Complimentary personal laundry is done midweek and fresh linens and towels are provided.  Floor Plan of Datura Rental Notes: The villa is rented on a weekly basis from Sunday to Sunday.
